Diabetes is a global problem.
Today, about 7% of all healthcare spending in India is spent on diabetes control. The actual number of patients with diabetes in India is at least 6% of the population.
The statistics are disappointing, but every year the medical community tries to draw attention to this serious disease, thanks to holidays such as World Diabetes Day.
Today, each of us has a relative or friend suffering from this disease. The main reason for the increase in the number of cases is a change in the lifestyle of the population, which began in the middle of the last century and continues to this day: physical inactivity, poor nutrition, smoking and alcohol abuse.
It is important that diabetes mellitus, especially type 2, can be prevented and practically eliminate the development of complications with a full understanding of the causes of the formation of this disease and the preventive measures resulting from them.
November 14 is World Diabetes Day
