Water for injections
Dosage form
Solution for injection 1 ml.
Description
A clear, odorless liquid.
Structure
1 ml of solution contains:
Active ingredient: Water for injections 1 ml
Pharmacotherapeutic group
Solvent
Pharmacological properties
Water for injection has no pharmacological activity. It is used as a solvent for the preparation of infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for the compatibility and efficiency of substrates and water.
Water is the basis for various transfusion drugs, biological tissues and fluids (blood, lymph, cell plasma, etc.), and is necessary for metabolic processes.
Under normal conditions, water is excreted in urine, feces, sweat, and breathing. Fluid loss through sweat, respiration, and feces occurs regardless of fluid administration. Maintaining adequate hydration requires 30-45 ml / kg / day of water in adults; in children - 45-100 ml / kg, and in infants - 100-165 ml / kg.
Indications for use
Dissolution and dilution of drugs for their parenteral (injection / infusion ) administration just before use.
It is used to prepare sterile infusion and injection solutions from powders, lyophilisates and concentrates.
Method of administration and dosage
The route of administration, rate of administration and doses must comply with the instructions for use of the dissolved / diluted medicinal product in each specific case.
Preparation of drug solutions using water for injection should be carried out under aseptic conditions (opening ampoules, filling the syringe and containers with the drug).
Side effects
It is determined by the side effects of the drug for which water for injection was used to dissolve or dilute.
Contraindication
Water for injection is not used for dissolving and diluting medicinal products for which another solvent is indicated as mandatory.
Overdose
Has no effect on overdose.
Precautions
Water for injection is not mixed with oil solutions for injection.
Medicines, the concentration of which must be within certain limits, are diluted with water for injection strictly within the specified limits.
Special control over the amount of injected solutions prepared using water for injection is required in newborns and young children, in whom, even with the introduction of small volumes, disturbances in the water-electrolyte balance are possible.
Interaction with other medicinal products
When mixed with other drugs ( infusion solutions, concentrates for the preparation of infusion solutions, injection solutions, powders, dry substances for the preparation of injection solutions), visual control for compatibility is required (pharmaceutical incompatibility may occur).
Special instructions
If the tightness of the package is broken, the contents become cloudy, water for injection should not be used.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
The effect on the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions is determined by the properties of the drug, for which water for injection was used to dissolve or dilute.
Pregnancy and elbowing
Application during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is determined by the instructions for use of the drug for the dilution of which water for injection will be used.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms
Does not affect.
